PSA: Maya Kaimal and Simmer Sauces are now in Portland!

Heads up: sponsored content ahead!

Maya Kaimal sauces have been a favorite “cheater ingredient” of mine for years, and now I’m excited I can buy them locally instead of just online!

365 by Whole Foods in Lake Oswego now carries their Everyday Dal pouches along with their amazing Indian simmer sauces that I’ve been using for years. Even better: for the entire month of February, ees all on sale! You know how I love a deal.

The dal is perfect for quick meals on the go! The pouches are even microwaveable. Hellooooo days I forget to pack a lunch for work, you will no longer cost me $16.

I use the simmer sauces to make a quick meal out of whatever protein, veg, and starch I have on hand. Without fail, it’s always delicious.

Here’s a basic recipe for a chicken curry using their sauces:

  1. Slice chicken into 1 inch chunks. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat ghee or other cooking oil in a deep skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken and brown, turning every couple of minutes.
  3. Once browned, pour sauce over chicken. Add veggies of choice (I like chopped broccoli) and simmer for 20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and veggies are tender.
  4. Serve over rice.

Seriously, could that be any easier?!
