Aunt Debbie’s Blackberry Cobbler

The best way to use up summer's incredible bounty of fruit: pile it all into this delicious, simple as can be cobbler.

ingredients

– 1/2 cup butter, sliced – 2 cups sugar – 2 cups flour – 2 tsp baking powder – 1/2 tsp salt – 2 cups milk – 6 cups blackberries, or fruit of your choice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Add butter to a 9x13 inch glass baking dish. Put in oven and heat until butter has melted.

In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the milk and stir until just combined (batter will be lumpy). Pour over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

Arrange berries or fruit over the top of the batter. Do not stir.

Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, checking it regularly after an hour, until the top is golden brown.
